Hello, my lovely tree huggers!
I’ve got three vegan skincare brands that are treating our world right. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some of these products. You deserve love with a serum to match!
All of the following brands are available for purchase at Sephora.
Alex and Julia are the husband and wife duo behind Herbivore Botanicals. All of Herbivore’s products are safe, non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free. Not only is the skincare line good for your face, but good for the planet! (That’s my favorite part!) All of the packaging for these creations are made from recyclable materials and can be reused.
I personally love Herbivore Botanicals because of how much intention goes into the designs of their products. Not only do they produce results, but the brand creates a ritual for you to follow to your healthiest self. Their products are crafted to smell good and feel good on your face, engaging all of your senses in a relaxing experience.
The Phoenix Oil features rosehip, chia seed, and jojoba oil. But the most fascinating ingredient in this facial oil is CoQ10, a coenzyme that is a naturally occurring nutrient in our body that disappears as we age. CoQ10 protected cells from damage and can catalyze chemical reactions to increase the amount of collagen in the skin. Science! So for that one biology teacher who announced my grades to the class, called me mediocre for my knowledge…LOOK AT ME NOW!
Herbivore’s Blue Tansy mask is a powerful clarifying mask that unclogs poor and soothes the skin. The main super star ingredient in this face mask is blue tansy oil, high in azulene which reduces inflammation in the face. Other ingredients include willow bark, aloe, and fruit enzymes.
Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes’ grandmother Eva was one of the first estheticians to bring natural ingredients to America. She created a botanical skincare brand and inspired her daughters and grandchildren to do the same.
For my California peeps, this one’s for you! Youth To The People is a California born and made skincare line. They use nutrient-dense, vegan superfoods to create products that transform your skin without using any toxic fillers. They’re no BS and I love it! Everything about this brand is transparent, an unconventional characteristic in business. But Youth To The People is working to change that. This brand is an eco favorite of mine, using recyclable glass packaging and being “People For The Planet.”
Don’t worry if you hate drinking green juice, because now you can wash your face with it! The Superfood Cleanser is a gentle daily face wash that contains cold-pressed kale, spinach, and green tea.
The mask is incredible for boosting your skin’s radiance. This product has a Proprietary Superberry Blend formula that includes maqui, the most antioxidant dense fruit in the world. It’s super rare but doesn’t go to waste in the production of this mask. Other fruits in this hydrating formula are prickly pear, acai, and goji berry.
In 2009, Indie Lee was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given 6 months to live. Thankfully the tumor was removed and Indie is here to tell the story. It is her mission to empower and educate people on how to make healthy choices in their lives by using clean and non-toxic products that are effective and safe for your body.
Nature inspires everything that this brand creates, with ethically sourced ingredients grounded in the earth. Indie Lee keeps our planet in mind by using techniques to harvest materials that preserve the environment rather than destroy it. This skincare line is dedicated to sustainability by using glass bottles for most products’ packaging and by using Forest Stewardship Council certified paper.
Indie Lee does not test on animals and all but one line of their products are vegan. Their Calendula Eye Balm, Lip Treat, and I-Waken Eye Serum products are “Beegan,” meaning that they contain beeswax that is humanely sourced.
Indie’s Brightening Cleanser is jam-packed with antioxidants from tomato and strawberry. It’s like a nutrient supplement but for your face, including vitamins A, B, C, E, and Omega 3. And for those of you who’re like me, and feel like you just don’t want to spend money on something that’ll wash your face, get ready for this bomb I’m about to drop. This product is a 3 in 1! Waaaaat? It’s a cleanser, makeup remover, and face mask all in one bottle.
Next up is another CoQ10 product. Woohoo for science! Indie Lee’s CoQ-10 Toner is alcohol-free so it won’t strip your skin of it’s natural and beneficial oils. But with the hyaluronic acid in its formula, this toner will leave your skin feeling plump and hydrated. Also…THE SMELL. This product is made with chamomile, sage, papaya, and cucumber. Delicious!
