As millennials who can relate, we were super excited to discover up-and-coming natural skincare brand Luna Nectar. We spoke to the brand’s founder, Mia Fiona Kut, a busy millennial herself, to talk about her brand’s story and the brand’s multi-purpose products that help our schedules, our wallets, and the environment.

Mia started off in the film industry where she was looking for something new that could help women. It really all started one day when her sister came home with amazingly long eyelashes. Of course, Mia was intrigued ad asked what her secret was. It came as a shock to her when she found out that it was a chemical eyelash serum with some really nasty side effects, including things like eczema, burning, and lashes falling out in clumps! Yeah, we know—yikes! Mia began to realize that a lot of women were using these kinds of harmful products. She knew there had to be a better solution. Soon, Luna Nectar’s Moon Boost Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum was born.Many of Luna Nectar’s products are inspired by Chinese medicine. Mia grew up around people that emphasized Eastern medicine over Western and it stuck with her. Luna Nectar uses organic and ethically sourced ingredients with simple oil blends. The brand’s products follow a less is more mantra, and they don’t contain any fillers, hormone-based ingredients, or synthetic fragrances. They also make their products in small batches by a small, intimate team to help keep production costs down. Plus, they use bamboo tube packaging for their lash and brow serum that comes from a fair-trade manufacturer and the brand’s boxes are made from recycled paper. From their lash serums to their moisturizers, their products are 100% natural, ethically made, cruelty-free, vegan, AND affordable. As for Mia’s favourite? The Heliophilia Glow and Fix Serum is near the top of her must-haves list. The serum helps inflammation, redness, and dry areas. It’s also great to give a bronzy, dewy glow when you’re feeling like a golden goddess. It can be used as a hair serum, too.The Neptune Hydrate and Blur Serum is another product Mia constantly reaches for. The serum’s hyaluronic acid works to seal moisture into the skin and create a protective barrier. We hear it’s also pretty great to mix into your foundation to give your skin a fresh, dewy look. Personally, we’re loving the brand’s Hypernova Rinse-Free Hand Cleansing Lotion for keeping our hands clean and moisturized while on the go, a must-have in our purses with everything going on today.

Mia tells us that she’ll only ever create things she would buy herself. Her goal is to create affordable and natural products for people she can relate to.
